[ Gending means song, rhythm, chant, while Rare means baby/child, Gending Rare means a song for babies/children. Gending Rare is known as one of several Balinese literary works expressed orally/through singing. ]

Putra Pande made a cover of this song when he reached a saturation point in the process of making the 3rd single from Ki Barak Selem, recorded from mid-March to April 12 2024 and officially released on April 14 2024.

In Bali, there are many Gending Rare that have been forgotten by the children of the current generation. In line with Ki Barak Selem's (KBS) commitment, which includes promoting Balinese arts and culture, KBS attempts to cover the song "Jenggot Uban" with our own version, combining Balinese gamelan with Metal music. This cover song is far from perfect, but at least it can remind the younger generation of Bali of the literary heritage of their ancestors.
